If one refers to the latest figures published by the famous research firms, the market of e-Tourism Europe 2009 would reach 68 billion euros, a figure more than colossal, but eventually rose by 0.4% compared to 2008. Despite the economic crisis we are facing, there is still an increase of 0.4%, which clearly means that the European e-tourism continues to grow, unlike the tourism off-line, which suffered a considerable drop still 14% compared to 2008.
Why e-Tourism remains a key player? A synthesis is needed:
* Internet sales represent almost a third of European tourism market. In 2009, the European e-Tourism weighed 32% of total turnover against 28% in 2008.
* 43% penetration rate for the sale of airline tickets in Europe.
* 20% of the market for e-Tourism Europe is occupied by reserving hotel rooms through the Internet.
These figures are enough to reassure all concerned by the e-tourism, which remains today a vital part of the Internet.
